Our offer to our families:

 

As a school, we offer wraparound care with a breakfast club and after school club, offering provision from 7:30am to 6pm for children in nursery and all main school year groups – fantastic support for families requiring extended provision.

Excellent community links to ensure we bring our curriculum to life and provide opportunities and experiences for children at every stage of their education.

Oversubscription criteria

 

The criteria in this section apply to entry at all phases of the school.

 

1 When the school is oversubscribed, after the admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care plan or a Statement of Special Educational Needs naming the school, priority for 3 admission will be given to those children who meet the criteria set out below, in priority order: 1. Looked after children and children who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to adoption, a child arrangements order, or special guardianship order. 

 

2. Children by distance from the academy, with priority for admission given to children who live nearest to the academy as the crow flies and who attend Rivendell Flying High Academy nursery at the time of application. Distances are measured using Nottinghamshire County Council’s computerised distance measuring software. Distances are measured from the main administrative point at the school campus to an address point (using Eastings and Northings as deined by Ordnance Survey) to child’s home address.

 

3. Children by distance from the academy, with priority for admission given to children who live nearest to the academy as the crow flies and who, at the time of admission, will have a brother or sister attending the school. Distances are measured in line with criteria 2 above.

 

4. Children by distance from the academy, with priority for admission given to children who live nearest to the academy. Distances are measured using Nottinghamshire County Council’s computerised distance measuring software. Distances are measure from the main administrative point at the school campus to an address point (using Eastings and Northings as defined by Ordnance Survey) to child’s home address.

If you are unsuccessful in obtaining a place at our school, you do have the right to appeal the decision if you believe the admissions process has not been followed properly or there are other factors that should have been considered in allocation of school places.

 

To appeal, please complete the attached form and return to Appeals appeals@flyinghightrust.co.uk – your appeal will then be shared with the independent appeals clerk who will manage the process and keep you informed of the progress of your appeal.
