The SEND Team

Our SEND Team at Rivendell 

 

At Rivendell, we believe that all staff are teachers of SEND, ensuring that every child receives the support and adaptations they need to succeed in an inclusive environment. Our dedicated SEND team works together to provide specialist guidance and personalised support for children with additional needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

The SENCO role is key in school - they lead the SEND provision, working closely with teachers, parents, and external specialists/outside agencies to identify needs, implement support plans, and monitor progress. 

 

Mrs Ackroyd is the SENCO in school.  She has responsibility for co-ordinating the provision for all children in school who have Special Educational Needs or disabilities at Rivendell.  Mrs Ackroyd is also responsible for leading and monitoring interventions and line managing the Teaching Assistants.

 

The Mental Health Lead is a key role in school and supports the emotional well-being of our children, offering a safe space for children to talk and access strategies that promote positive mental health and resilience, as well as support for staff.  

 

Miss Dunford is our Senior Mental Health Lead.

The Headteachers role in the team is to provides strategic leadership, ensuring that SEND provision is a priority and that all children receive an inclusive and high-quality education.

 

Mrs Worthington is our Headteacher who oversees the provision for children with SEND.
