Make every day count

Early Years Parents

Whether it’s bathtime, bedtime or you’re washing up, playing with your child, using silly voices, or even singing can build their brain right from birth. It’s a great way to have fun while making your bond even stronger.

Look, Say, Sing, Play is a set of resources which encourage interaction between parents and their babies.

Parents and carers interact with their babies all the time without always realising how those interactions shape the way their baby’s brain develops.

Improving interaction and encouraging parents to be more sensitive to their baby’s cues helps parents identify and respond to their needs.

It also improves attunement and sensitivity of parents from an early stage, setting up positive behaviour as their child grows.

Looking after you

We know being a new parent can be stressful at times. In this short film, parents share tips on dealing with the stress and ways to look after yourself as well as your new baby.

Worried about a child?

Whether a child tells you they are being abused or you have concerns based on other signs,
such as their behaviour, it’s important to act on your concerns. Trust your judgement and don’t wait until you’re certain.

Talk to a member of our school staff or head teacher straight away or call 0808 800 5000 for further advice and support.
