Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium at Rivendell Flying High

At Rivendell, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. The Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to support children to help remove barriers to learning, provide targeted support, and enhance educational experiences.

Who is eligible for Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to schools to support children who may face challenges in their education due to their circumstances. Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding if they meet any of the following criteria:

  1. Free School Meals (FSM) – Children who have been registered for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years (also known as Ever 6 FSM). Families receiving certain benefits, such as Universal Credit or Income Support, may qualify for FSM.

  2. Looked After Children (LAC) – Children who are currently in the care of a local authority (also known as children in care).

  3. Previously Looked After Children (Post-LAC) – Children who were previously in local authority care but have since been adopted, placed on a special guardianship order, or child arrangement order.

  4. Children of Armed Forces Personnel (Service Pupil Premium) – Children with a parent serving in the regular Armed Forces, or who have been registered as a service child in the past six years (Ever 6 Service). This also includes children whose parent(s) have died in service or have left the Armed Forces due to injury or other reasons.

If you think your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, we encourage you to apply or speak to the school office for more information. Every application helps the school provide additional support for pupils who need it.

We use the Pupil Premium to continue to develop our high quality first teaching offer, fund a range of initiatives, including additional teaching support, enrichment activities, and well-being programmes. Our goal is to close the attainment gap and ensure that all children, regardless of their barriers, have access to high-quality education and opportunities to succeed.

The impact of our Pupil Premium strategy is regularly reviewed to ensure it is making a meaningful difference to our children's progress and well-being.
